The National Retail Federation announced that 54 organizations have joined NRF's growing membership since January 2009. This diverse group of retailers, restaurants and vendors has recognized the value and services NRF offers to its members along with the personalized resources and innovative services that the association provides, including more than 70 operational committees and councils.

Leading retailers who have joined NRF in the past six months include DSW Inc, a U.S. specialty branded footwear retailer that offers a wide selection of brand name and designer dress, casual and athletic footwear for women and men and operates stores in 37 states, and Jos. A. Bank Clothiers Inc, which operates stores nationwide with a full selection of men's tailored and casual clothing, footwear and accessories.

"Jos. A. Bank has been the expert in men's apparel in the United States since 1905. Our profitable growth in recent years to over 460 stores has led us to seek high quality partners that can provide specialist expertise in areas beyond our in-house skill set. NRF's array of available information and services satisfies several of those needs. We're proud to join NRF as a new member," said R. Neal Black, President and CEO of Jos. A. Bank Clothiers Inc.

“As the "voice" of the industry, we clearly see the value in NRF's resources as well as the networking and benchmarking we are able to do with fellow NRF members,” said Joe DiMariano, Vice President of Loss Prevention, DSW Inc. “In today's ever-changing retail environment, we find NRF even more valuable than ever before."

Other prominent retail members to join NRF in the last three months include Loehmann's Holdings, an off-price specialty retailer for name-brand designer fashions at prices 30% to 65% less than department store prices, and Donatos Pizza, a family-owned and operated business which operates more than 175 stores in six states and over 100 Take & Bake kiosks in Kroger stores. Colombian Emeralds International, one of the world's largest duty-free jewelers, with more than 60 locations throughout the Caribbean also joined NRF's growing membership.

NRF offers its members a variety of benefits, including:
Advocacy

NRF is deeply engaged with the nation's lawmakers in advocating the retail perspective on a number of highly volatile issues such as the economy, tax policy, health care costs, international trade, labor-management relations, data security, gift card regulation, and interchange fees. NRF members lead the charge in shaping the industry's position on legislation and regulations that affect retail companies.

Community
NRF's operating committees, which span over 70 areas of specialization, are composed of leading retail experts engaged in identifying what works best on any number of retail challenges from sustainability to loss prevention and supply chain. NRF members have exclusive access to industry studies, transcripts, conference call briefings, webinars, surveys and newsletters. NRF's four divisions operate in specialty areas of retail including advertising and marketing, digital retailing, chain restaurants, and technology standards.
