Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong) and Nuance-Watson (Singapore) once again excelled at the 12th DFNI Awards for Travel Retail Excellence in Asia/Pacific, with Nuance-Watson (Singapore) retaining the overall award for “Asia Pacific Travel Retailer of the Year” and Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong) receiving the biggest number of distinction at the awards night held at Suntec City Convention Center on the evening of May 12.

The DFNI Awards are an annual event held in recognition of the best practices in duty free retailing.

Nuance-Watson (Singapore) was named “Asia/Pacific Travel Retailer of the Year” for the third time running after 2007 and 2008 and once again claimed the award for “Best Fragrances and Cosmetics Travel Retailer in Asia/Pacific”. Through this sixth consecutive win of the award, the retailer firmly establishes itself as the undefeated beauty retailer in the travel retail industry.

The award was proudly received by Mr Ken Tse, Managing Director of Nuance-Watson (Singapore), who said: “We are very pleased to be recognised by the industry once again for being the best beauty travel retailer in Asia Pacific. It has always been our commitment to offer our customers the best selection in products 'un-gettable' elsewhere at the most attractive pricings. To be able to receive the awards for several years in a row is a great recognition of our efforts.”

On receiving the award for “Asia/Pacific Travel Retailer of the Year”, Tse added; “The travel retail industry is undergoing great strain because of the economic crisis. We are very surprised to receive this award despite trading during such trying times and up against such strong competitors.”

Three awards and two nominations for Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong)
Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong) was particularly recognised by winning three awards for “Fashion, Accessories and Jewellery Retailer in Asia/Pacific”, “Best Confectionery and Fine Food Retailer in Asia/Pacific” and “Best Gifts Retailer in Asia Pacific” for its operations at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).

Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong) was also Highly Commended for “Asia Pacific Travel Retailer of the Year” and “Best Fragrances and Cosmetics Retailer of the Year”. This latest win topped up a total of 20 DFNI / Raven Fox Awards in addition to 19 Highly Commended nominations for Nuance-Watson (HK).

Alessandra Piovesana, Nuance-Watson Regional Managing Director for North Asia said, “We are delighted with the winning of these awards. I want to dedicate these awards to my committed team for all that has been done for our company all these years; to our brands/partners and airport authority for their vote of confidence, continued trust and support.

These honours give us the motivation and assurance we need to persist in our solidarity with the travel retail industry and to further progress the business to surpass airport travelers and customers' expectations with our new expanded portfolio of world-class duty free stores at HKIA.”
