Recognised worldwide as a trusted business partner in delivering quality garments and accessories to the fast-changing fashion industry, the 16 th Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2010, organised by HKTDC, will be staged from July 6th to 9th 2009 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

The fair was a triumph in 2008 with a record-breaking 1,154 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions, of which 526 came from Hong Kong and 628 from overseas. Group pavilions included the Chinese mainland, India, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia and Taiwan. Exhibitors showcased a wide array of products, ranging from practical, easy-to-wear garments to elegant designer collections, transforming the halls into fashion superstores.

This year, Indonesia will expand its pavilion to showcase the latest styles from fashion talents, reflecting its confidence in the fashion market despite the conservative economic environment and making the most of the fair's capability to entice quality buyers from around the world.

In 2008, the fair attracted a total of 17,424 buyers from 87 countries and regions. The Chinese mainland was again the top visiting country with more than 3,400 visitors. Other top visiting countries and regions included Australia, Korea, India, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and the United States.

Always evolving, Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2010 adds Brand Name Gallery and Intimate Wear to its lineup of zones. As its name implies, Brand Name Gallery is a prestigious zone exhibiting brand name garments to potential buyers, including Beside Couture from Lebanon and Espen Salberg, a renowned Italian designer in Indonesia. Inside the Intimate Wear zone, participants will find the latest trends in lingerie and night-wear, from smartly functional to luxuriously elegant.

Helping buyers reach out to their target markets with ease are the traditional themed zones: Infant & Children's Wear, Garment & Accessories Mart, Fashion Gallery, Bridal & Evening Wear, Fabrics & Yarn, Sewing Supplies and International Fashion Designers' Showcase.

Throughout the fair, a number of seminars will be presented by key fashion identities and trend forecasters. For example, Stylesight will share its distinctive viewpoint on accessories trends for fall and winter of 2010. The seminars enable international buyers and exhibitors to network, review, exchange ideas and keep themselves abreast of global market direction. Fashion parades will intensify the excitement of the fair, underlining not only the beauty but also the power of fashion in contemporary life.

Running parallel at HKCEC is the Summer Sourcing Show for Gifts, Houseware and Toys which is widely recognised as a highly effective sourcing platform for a wide variety of quality products for the coming festive season.
