HCM City to host International Fashion Fair

The Vietnam International Fashion Fair 2009 will open from July 8 in Ho Chi Minh City and will continue till July 14.
The 350 booths at the fair will display a variety of materials for fashion industry, which will include garments and textiles, leather products, cosmetics and jewelry and other related materials by 150 enterprises from Vietnam and the other member countries of ASEAN.
A seminar, on next year's fashion and fashion shows will also be held during the fair, which will introduce popular regional brands, new clothing lines, designers and enterprises.
This seminar will also create the opportunities for customers, producers and enterprises playing in the field, to seek partners and sign contracts.
As per the Vietnam Garment and Textile Group (Vinatex), Vietnam, which is witnessing a year-on-year reduction of 4.7 percent due to the global economic crisis, earned US $4 billion from garment and textile exports, in the first half of the year.
Currently, the garment and textile shipments from Vietnam to the US and EU have stabilized and that to the Japan have increased. The domestic market and the new markets in the Middle East and Africa are the prime focus markets of many enterprises in the country, now.
