IIFT-Bhubaneshwar to commence sessions from August

The Institute of Interior and Fashion Technology (IIFT)-Bhubaneshwar, which will be offering diploma and advance diploma courses in Fashion Design, Interior Design and Textile Design, would commence its new academic session from August of this year.

The admissions for the inaugural session of the Institute would be on the basis of academic performance of the students who have completed 10+2, informed Mr. S.K. Mohanty, Chief Executive Officer of the Institute.

He further added that the total intake of the institute is 90 students. Currently six students have been enrolled in the institute, where the course fee for one-year diploma and two-year advanced diploma programs is Rs. 60,000 per year.

IIFT-Bhubaneswar is presently an autonomous institute, but the authorities of the institute are in talks with two universities in Orissa for affiliation, informed the CEO. The infrastructure offered by the institute will be as good as in the best fashion institutes of the country, said the Director, Mr. Amiya R Pattnaik.

In order to provide hands-on experience to the students, the curriculum has been framed in a manner to provide practical knowledge to the students through site, industrial visits and projects. The curriculum also includes guest lectures by industry experts and will use multi-media to enhance course delivery.
