Czech Republic Consulate to host Nolcha Fashion Week

Nolcha, an organization that supports, promotes and educates emerging and independent fashion talent from around the globe, partners with Czech Republic Consulate General to host Nolcha Fashion Week: New York September 2009.

Nolcha Fashion Week: New York September 14 - 18 2009 held simultaneously with New York Fashion Week will be hosted at the iconic Bohemian National Hall in association with Czech Republic Consulate General, which includes more than 32,000 square feet of space. The landmark building will house runway shows in the magnificent ballroom, an accessory exhibition in the spacious delegate conference room, cocktail parties at the upscale bar as well fashion business seminars in the 70-seat state-of-the-art theater.

The buildings refined combination of the classic and the modern with its preserved landmark façade will welcome guests into an environment of tasteful opulent décor as well as hi-tech equipment and surroundings. The building itself was often described as " the Waldorf -Astoria of the Upper East Side," and now with more than $45 million dollars invested in its refurbishment and renovation it is now in glorious shape to serve as a cultural hotspot to New York audiences.

We welcome all guests to enjoy the building and believe that not only Czech but other designers presented by Nolcha will find the place inspiring and supporting in reaching their goals.”

Fashion designer Šárka Šišková is proudly representing the Czech Republic at Nolcha Fashion Week: New York and will showcase her collection 'Planets” on September 15th 2009. Šárka Šišková is the only Czech fashion designer whose models have entered into permanent collection of the Museum at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. In her designs, Šárka Šišková follows her intuition and expresses her artistic feelings, her models are timeless and created to be worn mostly on special occasions.

“Applications from all over the world came flooding in once we revealed the beautiful Bohemian National Hall venue,” comments Lynn Furge, Nolcha Creative Director. “Nolcha Fashion week is going to be an eclectic mix of fabrics, shapes and styles representing some of the most fashion forward cities on the globe. The interesting part is that there seems to be a youthful exuberance of color and movement from designers whether they are creating eveningwear, ready-to-wear or even swim.”

Over 50 designers will showcase during Nolcha Fashion Week: New York and guests will enjoy an array of runway shows, presentations, exhibitions, cocktail parties, industry networking and more. Nolcha continues to gain support from major sponsors including Aveda, Clarins, Paul Mitchell, EDUN Live, Carlton Hotel, Don Q Rum, Riazul Tequila and Coca-Cola.

Award Winning Nolcha Fashion Week held simultaneously with New York Fashion Week consists of runway shows featuring emerging and independent designers, accessory exhibition, industry networking events and fashion business seminars held by reputable New York fashion business industry figures.
