"The Licensing Gallery @ NYIGF," a new business-to-business resource connecting surface designers, artists and licensing agents with gift and home manufacturers, will debut at the winter 2010 edition of the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF).

In its inaugural edition, The Licensing Gallery will feature a maximum of 30 participants and will be positioned on the NYIGF exhibit floor, adjacent to At Home featuring Home Textiles, EX·TRACTS and Personal Accessories featuring Details on Level One of New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. According to Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president, "This positioning of art & design resources alongside home fashion, personal care and fashion accessory producers offers a unique synergy between creators of artwork for product application and manufacturers utilizing licensed artwork in product design and manufacture."

For the winter 2010 launch, participation in The Licensing Gallery will be offered exclusively to exhibitors in the May 2010 edition of SURTEX, the GLM-owned tradeshow geared exclusively to the sale and license of art and design, held each spring in New York City.

The Licensing Gallery is expected to draw attendance from NYIGF exhibitors who are manufacturers and marketers of gift, home and lifestyle products, as well as non-exhibiting manufacturers, such as fabric companies, who attend NYIGF. "This is a unique first quarter opportunity for artists and licensing agents to meet gift and home manufacturers, at a market distinguished by the style and sophistication of its product offerings," said Penny Sikalis, SURTEX show manager and GLM vice president.

Exhibitors in The Licensing Gallery will have a 10'x10' hard wall booth space for four full show days - Sunday, January 31, through Wednesday, February 3 - as well as full exposure in NYIGF's online and printed directories and other pre-show marketing.

NYIGF is the nation's premier gift, home and lifestyle marketplace, with 2,800 exhibiting companies featuring an extraordinary breadth and depth of design-driven home fashion products and complementary giftware. Some 31,000 attendees from all 50 states and more than 85 countries worldwide are expected. The winter 2010 market will run Saturday, January 30, through Thursday, February 4, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94.

Both the New York International Gift Fair and SURTEX are owned and managed by GLM, a dmg world media business.
