Touch!, neoZone and cloudnine, the three Pitti Immagine salons organised in Via Tortona in Milan (27-29 September 2009),closed after three days of intense work, which saw presentation of over 140 women's fashion collections from all over the world.

6,160 buyers attended, a figure that was up by 14% on last March (when the total was 5,400) with foreigners totalling 1,110, 18% of the total. There were plenty of buyers from the main European markets, a few expected difficulties for those from Japan and Hong Kong and excellent attendance by Italians.

“Numbers are up and I see this as splendid news for the whole sector", states Agostino Poletto, vice director general of Pitti Immagine. “It was a great edition of Touch!, neoZone and cloudnine, with a feel of concrete business in the air. The top buyers at the three-day event greatly appreciated the collections presented, judging them to be focused and rich in innovation with interesting commercial input.

Our salons are the ideal platforms for international buyers to build the selected qualified ranges that meet their increasingly more authorial needs. They are on the lookout for products with a high style and quality content in an interesting price bracket. The president himself of the National Chamber of Buyers, Beppe Angiolini, recently said that today the brand total look no longer works; it is up to boutique owners to put together the most suitable style for their clientele and render it unique”.

Top boutiques and department stores that took part included Victoire (Paris), Crocus (Moscow), Cashmere & Silk (Moscow), Tsum (Moscow), Baycrew's Co.(Tokyo), Beams (Tokyo), Ship(Tokyo), United Arrows (Tokyo), Opium (Saint Petersburg), Takashimaya (Tokyo), Villa Moda (Kuwait), Harvey Nichols (Hong Kong), The Swank Shop (Hong Kong), Neiman Marcus (Dallas), Tender (Birmingham), Blake (Chicago), Jofre (Barcelona), Vakko (Istanbul), Apollinaire (Geneva), Stenia (Athens), Helmut Eder (Kitzbuhel), Della Spiga (Melbourne), Bugatti (Dubai), Daniel's (Bonn), Abahouse International (Tokyo), John Bull (Tokyo), Alan Bilzerian (Boston) and King of Green Street (New York).Italian buyers spotted at the shows included Antonia (Milan), Biffi Boutique (Milan), Folli Follie (Mantua), Luisa Via Roma (Florence), Rail So Magazine (Brescia), Sugar (Arezzo), La Coupole (Venice), Space Boutique (Ravenna), Giglio (Palermo) and Helmé (Catania).

Finally, special projects presented at the three salons had buyers and press excited with an international preview of the women's collection by Zanellato, the ethical fashion project “Bridge between Italy and Southern Africa” and the "special projects" collections at Touch!.

Good feedback also for Neodesigners, the protagonist brands in the sections dedicated to emerging talents at neoZone and cloudnine.
