Nordstrom Rack for University Commons

Nordstrom, Inc. has announced plans to open a Nordstrom Rack store at University Commons shopping center in Boca Raton, Fl. The 36,000-square-foot store is projected to open in fall 2010.
The new Nordstrom Rack will join a strong mix of retailers at the center that includes Whole Foods, Bed Bath & Beyond and Barnes & Noble. University Commons also features several dining destinations, such as PF Changs, McCormick & Schmicks and J Alexanders. Boca Raton-based Schmier & Feurring Properties developed the property and leases and manages the shopping center.
"We look forward to serving our customers in the Boca Raton area with this new Nordstrom Rack," said Scott Meden, president of Nordstrom Rack. "University Commons is an outstanding location and we're excited to open our doors there in 2010."
"Since opening in 2001, University Commons has emerged as the premier open air shopping center in Boca Raton," said Doug Feurring, CEO of Schmier & Feurring Properties, Inc. "Nordstrom Rack will be a tremendous addition to an already great mix of retailers and dining establishments. We are delighted they are coming to University Commons."
Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, and carries merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com at 50-60% off original Nordstrom prices. Nordstrom Rack also offers a wide selection of apparel, accessories and shoes from many of the brands carried in Nordstrom stores and purchased specially for Nordstrom Rack, with most at savings of 30-70% off.
The Nordstrom Rack at University Commons will be located approximately one mile from the Nordstrom store at Boca Town Center. Nordstrom has announced plans to open two other Nordstrom Racks in Southeast Florida in 2010, at the Palms at Town & Country in Kendall, Fl. and at Miracle Marketplace in Coral Gables, Fl. The company currently operates six Nordstrom stores and one Nordstrom Rack in the region.
Nordstrom, Inc. is one of the nation's leading fashion specialty retailers, with 182 stores located in 28 states. Founded in 1901 as a shoe store in Seattle, today Nordstrom operates 112 full-line stores, 67 Nordstrom Racks, two Jeffrey boutiques and one clearance store.
