Three convincing fashion shows, two world-class artists and a top-class audience made the MICHALSKY StyleNite the highlight of the Berlin Fashion Week. Michael Michalsky's new show concept celebrated a brilliant premiere in the Berlin Friedrichstadtpalast.

The major event was an outstanding success and thrilling experience that enthused both the professional audience as well as the numerous VIPs including Roland Emmerich and Aura Dione, Wolfgang Joop, Heike Makatsch, Jessica Schwarz, Julia Malik and August Diehl, Franziska Knuppe, Michi Beck, Mariella Ahrens and many others. Unfortunately, Karl Lagerfeld was not able to appear in person, so he sent an official greeting to host Michael Michalsky: “To me, Michael Michalsky is the symbol of Berlin's fashion. He represents the zeitgeist of the city, the humour of the city, and has a talent that was needed there to prove to the world that Berlin is a fashion city to be reckoned with. Bravo Michael!!"

Lala Berlin opened the evening with a collection titled “Viva la Revolutión (d´amor)“, already emphasising the central idea of the revolutionary new show concept. Afterwards, Kaviar Gauche presented their new collection “STRIPPED” that fit well into the history-charged show palace with its variety-based theme.

The finale was the fashion show by designer and host Michael Michalsky, whose collection is inspired by Heinrich Zille' s drawings “Mein Milljöh” from Berlin's Wilhelminian style era. With a grandiose orchestration, he presented his fashion for the autumn/winter season 2010/11.

Professional visitors praised the balance of the collection and its creative details, for which Michalsky is well known.

“Rock Chic” was the theme for hair and make-up and taken for the look which is reminiscent of having partied all night and accentuates its beauty even more for just this reason. The hair-look is “undone” and open, as the rock and roll still has to be visible in the hairstyle. The make-up captivates with its black-rimmed eyes and glossy effects on eyelids and lips. Besides fashion, there was also plenty of music, and so the audience was caught by surprise when no one less than the cult band Spandau Ballet, now celebrating their comeback, stormed the stage.

It was the first appearance of the band in Berlin since their comeback and these British musicians still know how to thoroughly wow the audience with their stylish performance. Equally stunning and spectacular was the performance by the promising newcomer band Hurts, who were nothing short of their role models. Afterwards, DJ-Hell's set rocked the Friedrichstadtpalast again this year and ensured a great party going into the early morning hours.

The brasserie at the Gendarmenmarkt ensured that the guests were well-supplied with a spicy red creamy lentil soup with coconut, burgers and Swiss and Mediterranean pasta salad.
