Bonn meets New York in mongrels in common A/W collection

The successful young designer-duo mongrels in common enthused once again the audience at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. They perfectly showed how to merge different cultures to a unique urban look.

Mongrelism 10_11 is an extraordinary combination of opposites – the respectable, well-behaved charm of Bonn and the cosmopolitan, intoxicant influences of the world metropolis New York form a one-of-a-kind symbiosis. As role model for designers Christine Pluess and Livia Ximénez-Carrillo served a mixture of Hannelore Kohl and Grace Jones – the exceptional blend of classical elegance and extravagant finesse. One print, especially created by the designers, reflects the motto of the collection – a conservative dot pattern melts into the gleaming city lights of New York.

Keylooks of the collection, masculine suits, soft floating dresses, floor-length skirts and romantic blouses made of silk did fascinate the audience with the mongrels' remarkable combination of forms and qualities. Natural fibres such as silk, cotton, cashmere and nanaileather are combined with coated, metallic and glossy fabrics.

The fashion show of mongrels in common was acclaimed by loud applause. Guests of the fashion show actress Alexandra Neldel and singer Aura Dione were thrilled by the new creations of the designers. Enie van de Meiklokjes, Chantal de Freitas and Julia Malik did not to miss this year's fashion show at Bebelplatz, Berlin either.

Julia Freitag, in charge of styling, was a big support for the show. A very special thanks goes to the cooperation partner Nanai and Sanctum Berlin.
