BREAD & BUTTER in high-spirited mood

Many thanks to everyone who has donated to Haiti in the course of our charity action. 7,630 € will go to the German Red Cross(DRK).

OUTLOOK summer 2010
At the press conference on the second day of the tradeshow, the new campaign “BREAD & BUTTER – PREMIER LEAGUE” was already presented.

Karl-Heinz Mueller: “The thought behind the campaign is obvious. First of all, only the best of their trade can participate at BREAD & BUTTER, and secondly, the football World Cup will take place in South Africa concurrently with the BREAD & BUTTER.

On the eve of BREAD & BUTTER as well as on the evening of the first day of the tradeshow, there will be a semi final each. We will build a huge stadium on the airfield and celebrate a big football event. So book your flights and hotels and be part of it! The ticket sale will start shortly.”

Furthermore, the new goals for the summer event in July 2010 were presented:
1. B&B Kids
BREAD & BUTTER will actively focus on the topic kidswear. Many of the BREAD & BUTTER exhibitors are active and successful in the kidswear segment. They will be provided with an adequate business platform in the form of a big circus tent in summer already.

2. Contemporary Sportswear
BREAD & BUTTER sees great potential in this segment. Karl-Heinz Mueller: “Many Sportswear brands still exhibit at Pitti in Florence. We have already held many talks with brands in this segment that are looking for more internationality. We can offer them this. However, we take good care that the brands fit in our overall portfolio. BREAD & BUTTER should be extended in the existing brand world, the dynamics should by no means be limited.”

3. B&B BOARDING HOUSE
In Hangar 1 (Sport & Street), young, creative labels from this segment will be provided with an exceptional possibility to present themselves. Karl-Heinz Mueller: “In the rearward part of the Sport & Street hangar, there are two completely equipped floors of ca. 1,000 sqm each above the ,Showrooms'. They are accessible via several staircases directly from the hangar. These are the former airlines' offices. The individual rooms are between 20 and 30 sqm big. Here, we want to provide young sport- and streetwear labels as well as Street Art artists with a new home. The prices are considerably below our regular sqm prices, therefore, these rooms are reserved for young start-ups. We will shortly announce the exact building plans respectively the layouts.”

4. L.O.C.K. STORE
Behind Hangar 7 (L.O.C.K. Area), the former fire brigade station of the airport Berlin-Tempelhof is located. It is a great, high room of approx. 400 sqm. Here, a store for the L.O.C.K.exhibitors will be generated. The access directly via Hangar 7 will be facilitated for the visitors. Karl-Heinz Mueller: “In the L.O.C.K. Store, the exhibitors should be provided with the possibility to present the current fall/winter products together in an adequate surrounding. 14 oz. Berlin will be the curator. A sale is not planned.”
