Fashion retailer Cato says customer spend pushes October sales

The Company has 15 stores that remain closed due to three recent hurricanes. Of the 15 stores, three are closed until power is restored, nine are undergoing repairs and are expected to reopen between mid-November and early next year, and three are expected to remain closed for an indefinite period of time.
Year-to-date the Company has opened 52 new stores, relocated 11 stores, and closed seven stores. As of October 29, 2005, the Company operated 1,222 stores in 31 states, compared to 1,149 stores in 29 states of October 30, 2004.
