With Bhutan as her inspiration, Babita Malkani's Boho Chic line was an ode to monasteries and architecture of the beautiful hilly country. Drapes played with structured silhouettes as three options came on the ramp.

Hand women fabrics, geometrics with checks in the popular trio of red, black and white and Sanskrit prints in blue and orange completed the look. Using a vivid colour story, Babita worked with a rainbow of hues ranging from coral, blue, nude, navy, khaki to black, white, yellow, pink and purple. Accessories like beautifully designed sling bags added to the charm of the garments inspired by Bhutanese Dzong architecture. Mix of patterns and fabrics created magic for Capri jumpsuits, pleated dhoti dresses, wrap blouses, intricately crafted waist coats and woven belts that snaked around the models in innovative wraps.

The soothing Buddhist music was the perfect accompaniment to a spiritual fashion experience by Babita Malkani. The show stoppers were Bollywood actor, Harman Baweja in a sharply cut double breast jacket and Pankaj Advani the billiard ace in an ivory woven Nehru jacket.

Riyaz Gangji, creator of the Libas label has dressed the top celebs of Bollywood and society. His collection for men and women was a relaxed comfortable line for both sexes. Men's wear started with linen pants, waistcoats, jackets and lean trousers with controlled embellishments. There was interesting detailing like cutwork or embroidery on the predominantly ivory collection that revolved around resort comfort wear. The women's wear was a line of glamorous satin, gowns with detailing like pleats, cowl necks, Grecian drapes, cut-away detailing for sexy ultra evening wear that glittering with diamantes.

Fabrics were textured and weave-centric with chiffon, satin, georgette, linen and cotton and the colours moved from pastel beige and mint to a hint of purple and coral. Show stopper, Pooja Bedi made a dramatic entry in an ivory net and satin draped gown sprinkled with sequins and a dazzling diamante cummerbund. Riyaz Gangji's collection for both sexes was a mix of style and elegance perfect for the coming summer season.

Making their debut at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2010 Ayush and Shradha Murarka's “Celestial Bodies” collection created by Ninon Palisse, was an elegant presentation inspired by the heavenly bodies of the universe and galaxies. Pleats and drapes created a fashion symphony along with layers, zippers, textures in organza, satin, georgette and chiffon.

Touches of glitter, bandage dresses, contoured corsets, flowed and structured silhouettes gave the utterly feminine collection a glamorous touch. Shades of lavender, cream, white, turquoise, vermillion were moulded into figure hugging evening wear with a mix of fabrics that ranged from rayon, satin, organza, taffeta and then moved to leather.

Multi layered, draped, shaded with a touch of origami and sharply cut detailing, the collection was a beautiful offering to women who long for dramatic show stopping creations.
