Hublot's Big Bang bags 'Best Design Award' at Watchmaking Grand Prix

Watchmaker Hublot's Big Bang is awarded in Geneva. The “Best Design Award” by the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de la Ville de Genève 2005, what an achievement.
The Big Bang chronograph gets a magnificent start to its career by winning the prestigious Design Prize in the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix. Soon after its arrival in the points of sale of its international distribution network, the Big Bang watch has received a major commendation from professionals in the sector.
Brand CEO Jean-Claude Biver enthusiastically welcomed this honour and stated that For a company such as Hublot, winning the Design Prize in the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix is a major acknowledgement. The fact that the prize comes so quickly during this renewal period for Hublot would appear to prove that the strategic vision adopted to boost the brand is well appreciated by professionals.
Distinguished by its sharp angles and multi-layered construction allowing a play on materials, the case of the Big Bang measuring 44.5 mm in diameter is crafted in 18-carat gold or in steel. A kevlar insert provides an original lateral perception that makes it look as if the legendary natural rubber Hublot strap passes straight through it.
The stamped carbon dial is framed by an ultra-large ceramic bezel adorned with sunken screws featuring H-shaped slots, complete with kevlar lug disc.
The crown and rectangular-shaped heads of the push-pieces have natural black rubber inserts. Equipped with the new HUB44 mechanical automatic winding chronograph movement, the Big Bang chronograph is the first in the new generation of Hublot watches.
