ALIVESHOES, an ongoing art and fashion project evolving the way people perceive and experience art, launches in the U.S., UK, Italy, and the Netherlands.

• The ALIVESHOES project involves one-of-a-kind art installations created by talented artists from around the world. Each art installation makes use of shoes -- a.k.a. "ALIVESHOES" -- as a medium.
• Every ALIVESHOE honours Italian shoe making traditions and pays strict attention to the materials, detailing, quality and aesthetics.
• Each shoe is manufactured by hand using environmentally-friendly materials and processes.
• The art works are all temporary sculptures, including urban and rural installations and video works. After living for a short span of time, the installations are deconstructed and the limited numbers of shoes utilized in the artwork are offered for purchase.
• Part of the profits from the ALIVESHOES project sales are donated to a number of charities and sustain the art and fashion project by funding and supporting the creation of new artwork.
• People can place their own value on art by determining the "Alive Value" of the shoes for sale.
• The ALIVESHOES.com website is the hub for the ALIVESHOES experiment.
• Art installations are available to be viewed online, in a virtual museum or art gallery type environment, at ALIVESHOES.com
• The site offers a unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at how each art installation comes together through videos, images and interviews with the artists.

Quotes attributable to Luca Botticelli, founder of ALIVESHOES:

• "Our goal with ALIVESHOES is to bring together the worlds of artistic expression, fashion and sustainability."

• "By being able to purchase the ALIVESHOES that make up each art installation, people are able to actively participate in this project and help to bring art to life."

• "ALIVESHOES lets people see fashion and art in a whole new way. No longer do people have to link shoes to a fashion brand or designer. Instead, they can derive a personal and emotional value that a piece of art can offer when they wear the shoes."

• "Beyond art and fashion, the ALIVESHOES experiment is also able to weave in other global topics and issues -- from ecology to technology and the economy. For example, we use sustainable materials and environmentally-friendly processes to manufacture ALIVESHOES. We also use the Web as a means of exhibiting the artwork and connecting people around the world. ALIVESHOES also helps to contribute to the global economy through charitable giving."

• "Thanks to our project curator Camilla Boemio, ALIVESHOES has brought together some fine artists, both emerging and internationally renowned, in the creation of new and exciting works of art."

ALIVESHOES is a project that crosses the boundary between contemporary art and fashion. Using ALIVESHOES artists create visionary installations, sculptures and stories. This project aims to bring together the worlds of artistic expression, fashion and sustainability. ALIVESHOES is owned by Business Revolution 2.0, which is made up of a team of young entrepreneurs taking a completely new approach to the business world.
