Cashmere World to be held in Beijing in November

UBM Asia Ltd, a fully-owned subsidiary of United Business Media Limited, announced that it is joining hands with the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce & Animal By-Products (CCCFNA) to launch and organise Cashmere World in Beijing in November 2010.

Cashmere World is designed to showcase the unique qualities that make cashmere stands out from other materials; introduce and lead international cashmere fashion trends; promote the elegance of cashmere products, and; provide a regular high-standard international meeting place for all concerned with the cashmere industry, in order to stimulate technology advancement, the sharing of information and knowledge, foster international collaboration and create an effective business platform for the cashmere industry.

The event will span the entire supply chain of the cashmere industry covering every stage from raw material, manufacturing technology and standards to finished products and fashion.

Michael Duck, Senior Vice President of UBM Asia, said: "There is no other dedicated cashmere event anywhere in the world. With 95% of the world's pure cashmere raw material supply and 70% of the cashmere finished products originating from China, the country is in an indisputably eminent position to play host to a global event for this specialised industry."

Mr Bian Zhenhu, Vice President of the CFNA said: "We organised a cashmere event in 2007 and 2008. With this new partnership, we can now tap on UBM's extensive global reach and professional show management expertise to serve exhibitors and visitors even better, and create an event that serves as a catalyst for the development and upgrading of China's cashmere industry."

Cashmere World 2010 will take place from 23-25 November at the China National Convention Centre – located in the heart of the Olympic Green adjacent to the National Stadium (Bird Nest) and the National Aquatics Center (Water Cube) – in Beijing.
