Woodbury University will honor famed gown designer Sue Wong at the 46th annual fashion show benefit on Sunday, May 2.

The show at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles begins at 6:30 p.m., with a reception at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $150 and proceeds provide scholarships for talented Woodbury students.

In addition to honoring Wong as the fashion designer of the year, Woodbury University alumna and "Project Runway" participant Christiane King, whose edgy, flirty designs are popular with young Hollywood, will be recognized with Woodbury's inaugural Rising Star Award. The work of Woodbury student designers also will be celebrated at the Swarovski-enhanced fashion show, emceed by CBS 2 and KCAL 9 meteorologist Josh Rubenstein.

Wong's current limited edition collection "Sue Wong for Walt Disney Signature" features dresses inspired by the hit movie "Alice in Wonderland." Her designs have been worn by stars such as Anne Hathaway, Taylor Swift, and Carrie Underwood, and she recently debuted her Fall 2010 collection during Los Angeles Fashion Week. As Woodbury University's Fashion Designer of the Year, Wong joins the ranks of past honorees including Zandra Rhodes, James Galanos, Gustave Tassell, and Eduardo Lucero.

The theme for the 2010 show presented by the Woodbury Department of Fashion Design is "Asiatikos" to celebrate influences from the varied cultures of Asia. The fashion show is a showcase for the ideas and designs of Woodbury's fashion design students.
