“Women's Wear Daily” recently selected 12 designers to feature as “Globe Runners: Fresh Talent From Around the World.” Stacey Clark, a Graduate of FIDM who designs under the label Odilon, has been involved in the arts and fashion since she was a child. She told WWD that as an eight-year old “I would lay down my clothes on paper, trace around them, and allow for seam allowance.” The 23-year-old Canadian native, who has also studied sculpture and painting, graduated from FIDM in 2008, and created her first collection last year.

The women's line, named after the French artist Odilon Redon, is inspired by everything from the equestrian lifestyle to horror and zombie movies. “(Redon) still had that Impressionist technique but painted very morbid subject matters,” says Clark, who has a knack for juxtaposing natural and synthetic materials. Fall 2010, which features nylon-coated jersey leggings and body conscious bright orange vests, is her first season going into production and will be available at Forty Five Ten in Dallas.

With four dynamic California campuses, FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is the premier west coast fashion design college, educating for careers in fashion, graphic design, interior design, and entertainment. FIDM's graduates include renowned fashion designers like Monique Lhuillier, Emmy and Academy Award award-winning costume designers, top fashion industry executives, and entrepreneurs.
