Marley & Co to move into footwear market

Marley & Co. announced that Anthony L&S Footwear has been awarded an exclusive worldwide licensing partnership for Marley Footwear. Paul Cohen, Chief Operating Officer of Marley & Co. made the announcement. "Anthony L&S is a leader in the footwear industry. The executives and designers have a great understanding of the category and have embraced Marley & Co.'s vision for the brand." Marley & Co. and Anthony L&S look forward to co-branding Marley with other world-class brands.

Marley Footwear will hit stores June/July 2010, gearing up for the back-to-school season with a collection of eco-friendly footwear eponymously named for the music legend. Tony Loconte, CEO of Anthony L&S notes, "We are proud to be in partnership with Marley & Co. Bob Marley is a universal icon, and we look forward to bringing his family's vision to the marketplace."

The brand will be available for men and boys, sizes 6-13, and retail for $29.99 to $129.99 at mass-market retailers and specialty boutiques worldwide. Remaining true to the Marley legacy and name, Marley Footwear will produce eco-friendly, sustainable products crafted from reusable resources. The brand will also pay homage to the musician's philanthropic ties by donating a portion of proceeds to charity.
