Leading Italian footwear brand, GEOX known for its "shoes that breathe", opens its flagship store on the corner of Madison Avenue and 57th Street in New York City.
The new two-story, 6,000-square-foot retail location will carry a complete assortment of GEOX footwear for men, women and children, featuring the new 2005 SS06 Spring Collection as well as GEOX's signature clothing line.
The new flagship mega store, designed by the Italian architect Luca Guoli of Studio TX Architetti Associati of Vicenza, will be the largest store in the GEOX chain. The "space shuttle" inspired, futuristic interior, will display footwear on pedestals giving customers a 360-degree view of the product. Plasma-screen televisions will play a GEOX DVD, informing customers about the philosophy and technology behind the GEOX brand.
GEOX's revolutionary technology provides comfort and benefits for both rubber and leather soles, making them waterproof and breathable, recreating an ideal microclimate inside shoes to keep feet cool and dry. The shoes boast a patented technology, which allows sweat and heat to exit through microholes in the rubber out soles. The breathable membrane keeps water out and feet dry.
A leader in classic and casual footwear, Italian-based GEOX has 350 stores in 68 countries around the world and sold a total of nine million pairs of shoes in 2004 alone. As a result of an increasing demand for its breathable, Italian-made designs, GEOX is currently opening another NYC location on Lexington Avenue and 59th Street as well as locations in Queens (NY), Boston
