Liberty to invest in HP for new manufacturing facility

Leading footwear brand Liberty Shoes Ltd is planning to achieve a turnover of Rs 600 crore in the next five years, besides opening 25 new outlets this fiscal.
The company has a capacity size of 75,000 pairs per day, will spend Rs 5 crore for setting up new manufacturing facility in Himachal Pradesh (HP) next year.
Footwear maker Liberty's Executive Director Sunil Bansal stated that the retail segment in the country is booming and with the opening of malls and department stores across the country they want to cash in on the same and cater to each kind of customer.
He added that with this, they anticipate that during the next five years, they will be touching a level of Rs 600 crore from the turnover of Rs 250 crore achieved last fiscal, he said.
Liberty Group, which diversified into sanitary ceramic products recently, has plans to set up a chain of 25 mega showrooms for its footwear products.
Bansal included that the company is planning to launch 10 Revolution Stores and 15 exclusive outlets in Lucknow, Delhi, Indore, Ghaziabad, Ludhiana, Pune, Kanpur and other potential cities.
The company, having market share of about 15 per cent in the total organised footwear market size of Rs 1,800 crore, has also tied up with stores such as Pantaloon, Life Style, Westsides and Metro for displaying their products in these showrooms. Liberty group has also made arrangement with retail giant Wal-Mart, Rebook and Nike for supplying itsfootwear to them.
He also stated that at present, the company is exporting its products to more than 30 countries including Saudi Arabia, Australia, Uganda, Columbia, Finland, Bangladesh, Germany and Russia with an annual export turnover of Rs 70 crore.
