Founded in 1985 by childhood friends Steve Shore and Barry Prevor, the first store was located on the University of Pennsylvania campus and soon expanded to several college campuses throughout the Midwest.

Since 1998, the company has focused its growth on opening anchor and junior anchor shopping mall-based locations throughout the US.
