Thee high-end designers to create TRON: Legacy for Disney

Disney Consumer Products is collaborating with high-end designers Rousseau, Hayden-Harnett, Rotenier and TomTom to launch a luxury accessory and shoe collection for women inspired by the high-tech 3D adventure, TRON: Legacy, releasing in U.S. theaters Dec. 17, 2010 in Disney Digital 3D and IMAX 3D.

Designed for the young female urbanite, the new TRON: Legacy couture line features dramatic sterling silver and leather statement pieces including an iconic limited edition 5-inch high-heeled platform sandal inspired by the fearless female warrior—Quorra.

“In developing these TRON-inspired collections, we saw a natural fit for today's modern woman who blends fashion and technology in her daily routine,” said Pam Lifford, executive vice president of fashion and home for Disney Consumer Products. “The films' lead female character was also a great inspiration due to her strong and fearless attitude. Combined with the design talents behind these fashion labels and their affinity for TRON, we have the perfect mix to deliver a line that will resonate with women all around.”

Additionally, Disney will soon announce details for its official, one and only TRON Pop-Up Shop set to launch in Los Angeles this November. Just in time for the holiday shopping season, the exclusive retail destination for men and women will offer fans a one-stop shop for special and limited-edition TRON merchandise, including this new couture line for women.

The TRON-Legacy-inspired couture collection:

Rousseau
Jerome C. Rousseau, the distinctive high-end women's footwear designer, is launching a limited edition 5-inch high heeled platform sandal inspired by TRON: Legacy's fearless female warrior—Quorra. This chic layered shoe will be available in pewter colored leather with metallic coating. The design features a radical shape, silhouette and structure that masterfully blends the futuristic and sleek architectural style of TRON. For Holiday 2010, the shoe will be exclusively sold at the TRON Pop-Up Shop and will expand to selected retailers worldwide in February 2011.

“Before Disney even approached me for this project, I had the original TRON poster next to my desk as part of my inspiration while I was designing my Spring 2011 collection, so I am obviously beyond excited to be asked to create a shoe inspired by TRON: Legacy,” said designer Jerome C. Rousseau. “In keeping with my label's strengths, I created a style that is distinctive and strong like the architectural nature of TRON, yet anchored in feminine lines and luxurious constructions.”

Hayden-Harnett
Fine accessories designer Hayden-Harnett's TRON: Legacy collection brings the digital world of TRON to today's 'fashionista' with two exclusive handbags, small leather goods (cosmetic bag and clutch) and three cuff bracelets that tout innovative structures and luxury detailing inspired by the film's angular lines.

Materials used in this product range include gun metal hardware, patent leather and regular leathers in black, with silver lining the interiors. The Hayden-Harnett TRON: Legacy collection consists of seven pieces will debut in the designer's Brooklyn and Nolita stores, the TRON Pop-Up Shop, on haydenharnett.com, and at select retailers in November.
