Indo-French Rendez-Vous on Fashion & Home Design

On the 12th of November the Mr. Jean-Luc Margot Duclot, Senior Vice-President Paris Region Economic Development Agency (PREDA) with the support of Promosalons hosted an Indo-French Rendez-Vous on Fashion & Home Design at the JW Marriott. The event was a dialogue between French exhibition organizers and Indian Designers who expressed their views on major fashion & design trends, Indian creations and the role of Paris trade shows to identify and showcase new trends and provide inspiration to international designers.

Opened by the Consul General of France, Mr. Francois Pujolas, eminent Parisienne personalities in the world of fashion and interiors Mr. Etienne Cochet, President of Paris Capital de la Création and Managing Director of SAFI and Maison&Objet, Ms. Sylvie Pourrat, Manager of Première Classe, Mr. Jacques Brunel General Manager of Première Vision, Ms. Véronique Bonnet Director Eurovet Asia etc iniatiated a discussion between Indian Designers and French Trade Shows organizers giving insights into Fashion & Home Design Trends: the Paris trade shows highlight emerging trends.

On the Indian side, the Designers who shared their views about Paris and its role in the field of Fashion and Home Design were: James Ferreira, Anu M., Lascelles Symons, Gayatri Khanna, Varun Sardana and Sangeeta Khanna. Senka De Silva, the textile designer from Sri Lanka who also presented their creations in an intimate fashion showing .

Mr. Jean-Luc Margot Duclot, Senior Vice-President Paris Region Economic Development Agency (PREDA) and Raj Anand of Promosalons played hosts to guests such as Suzanne Roshan .Zarine Khan, Sujal Shah, Renu Chainani, Chandini Roy, Marie Lou Phillip, Shahid Dattawala, Rajesh Mulchandani, Ambika Hinduja and many more who attended the discussion , fashion showing followed by a lavish lunch at Mezzo Mezzo. The leading Paris Fashion & Home Trade Shows were at this rendez-vous: Paris Capital de la Création - an umbrella organization that gathers the most important trade shows held in Paris specialized in the fashion, accessories and home sectors, Maison&Objet –the show for home fashion, Who's Next – the International lab for fashion trends, Première Classe - The international fashion accessory designers trade show and Première Vision Pluriel - Six top international events for the textiles industry. This Indo-French dialogue was opened by the Consul General of France, Mr. Francois Pujolas, who mentioned that France regarded India as its privileged interlocutor and emphasized on the importance and the strong potential of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Mr. Jean-Luc Margot Duclot, Senior Vice-President PREDA highlighted the leading place of Paris as the world Capital of fashion and home design. More than 60 editions of 40 different exhibitions, which are held each year in Paris, welcome almost 20,000 exhibitors, 43% among them international and 725,000 exhibitors, 40% among them international.
