Designer Tomas Reyes floats MIKKA sportswear brand

Fashion designer Tomas Reyes will debut his new MIKKA Line of sportswear and couture for distribution to high-end boutiques and department stores such as Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom's.
"He has been very excited these past few months creating the MIKKA Line," says Reyes.
"They wanted great styling, construction and needle quality to be the hallmarks of this new collection and the extraordinary reaction the line is receiving proves that they have achieved that goal."
Tomas Reyes has been named Design Director for August Silk, a US division of High Fashion Group LTD, manufacturer of private label collections for major American retailers and other name brand label collections such as Diane Von Furstenberg and Calvin Klein as well as European labels such as Nicole Farhi, French Connection and Maxx.
Reyes has established solid relationships in China, working directly and very intimately with the company's own factories and weaving, dying, spinning and knitting mills.
His accumulated expertise led him to create MIKKA, an upscale high-quality line with excellent workmanship that maximizes the best elements of its Chinese parent company's fashion manufacturing.
Some of the designs feature customized textile weave and pattern stamp printing as well as quality workmanship and superb attention to details, such as pure silk jackets with tailored construction from the inside out.
The MIKKA Collection also features fullcircle skirts printed in the heaviest Silk Satin with the lightest hand-embroidered touches and solid "liquid gold" silk trousers inspired by 1940's style.
