The year 2006 marks the sixth presentation of the HUGO BOSS PRIZE. Since 1996, the award has gone to the following artists: Matthew Barney (U.S.A.), Douglas Gordon (Scottland), Marjetica Potrc (Slovenia), Pierre Huyghe (France), and Rirkrit Tiravanija (Thailand).
