Fashion of the Region of Aragon to play leading role at SIMM

The next edition of SIMM, the Madrid International Fashion Fair, presents some excellent participation prospects. Thus, with still two months to go before SIMM takes place between 3rd and 5th February 2011 at Feria de Madrid, this fair organised by IFEMA already presents a full house, occupying the entire space available in Halls 12 and 14, the venue where the fair has taken place over the last few editions.

The amount of space available in the halls has even had to be increased by means of the use of modular stands located on a series of islands, thus catering for an additional twenty companies. The resulting exhibition will be some eight hundred square metres larger. The fair is also studying the possibility of opening up another hall, given that in spite of the previous measure, a long waiting list has emerged for participation at the event.

At this edition, which will present the collections for Autumn-Winter 2011/12, the fair will complement its habitual sections (Class, Charm, Natural, Agents, Ready, Gala and Shop) with the incorporation of the section known as "Warm" (coats and leather). SIMM will also once again feature the coincident staging of the IFEMA Showrooms in the North Convention Centre.

This second edition of the Showrooms will feature a larger number of brands from the high-category segment than in September, labels that are interested in presenting their collections at the same venue as SIMM, but within a distinct and exclusive space. Among the new companies that will be joining the IFEMA Showrooms we might mention Luis Civit, Noa Noa, Simorra (with other new lines), the Streponni Group (with its brand, Sud Express), Privata and Aventures des Toiles, among others.

Furthermore, SIMM will maintain its promotional drive regarding young designers at the next edition, based on the presentation of its EGO Area.

What is more, the fashion of the Region of Aragon will play a leading role at next February's edition of SIMM. In this respect, the fair has chosen this region in order to continue the initiative it began with Galicia last September, one that was very warmly received by both exhibiting companies and visiting professionals. Aragon is also a region that plays a prominent role within the Spanish fashion scene and fashion industry as a whole, having played a starring role at the fair over the years.

Coordinated to coincide with the trade exhibition itself, the fair is also organising various different events that will take place at the forum known as Speaker's Corner, encompassing a series of issues of interest to all those who make up the fashion industry, not to mention manufacturers and buyers.

Moreover, as occurred in February 2010, this edition of SIMM will once again coincide with the staging of GIFTRENDS, turning Feria de Madrid into the largest showcase devoted to "total look" fashion in Spain. In this respect, visitors will be able to view the products and services of the clothing fashion, accessories, fashion jewellery and exclusive jewellery sectors, along with those of the home furnishings and decoration industries.
