Italy-India fashion synergies revisited

An interactive session to explore Indo-Italian synergies in fashion was held on November 22 at NCPA.

Recognising the great potential for synergy in the field of fashion, the Indo Italian Chamber, along with its associates in National Chamber of Fashion, Italy and the Clothing Manufacturers' Association of India (CMAI) organised this session to explore and promote the potential for collaboration between the two countries.

The distinguished panel for the session comprised Mr.Premal Udani, President, CMAI, Mr. Narinder Nayar, President, IICCI, Mr. Mario Boselli, President, National Chamber of Fashion, Mr. Fabio Marangoni, President, Institu Marangoni Fashion Schools of Milan & London, Mr. Giuseppe Zaccagnini, Consul General, Italian Consulate, Stefano Zecchi, Counsellor, City of Milan, Gianfranco Ferre, Fashion Designer, Anees Noorani, Vice Chairman & MD, Mr. Krish Iyer, MD, CEO, Piramyd Retail Ltd. and Arjun Khanna, Fashion Designer.

Famous designer Mr. Narendra Kumar Ahmed was moderator for the session.

Addressing the select gathering Mr. Udani stated that Fashion and Fiesta go together and so does India and Italy as both nations share similar taste for fine foods, exotic wines and fast cars.

The world looks to Italy for fashion inspiration, so does India. With the event like Festa Italiana, great synergies have developed between the two countries. India has a promising pool of young designers and now they have their association CMAI to back them. So their future is in safe hands.
