France may bring Good News for Indian Fashionistas

Times in offing may bring along music to the ears of Indian Fashionistas soon, as hi-fashion apparel brands have started exploring avenues to be available to these fashion savvies pan India – the nation of opportunities.

Tomorrow, at Novotel Hotel located in Mumbai, the French Trade Commission of the French Embassy in India is to hold a B2B meeting for four reknowned French retail brands to meet potential partners for the Indian market in Mumbai.

“Cocomenthe, Didier Parakian, Vespucci Sarl, and Naf Naf are coming to single out their Indian business partners,” informs Mrs Brinder Rault, Trade Advisor, French Trade Commission, in an exclusive chinwag with News team at Fibre2fashion.com.

The delegation will be led by Patricia Brafman, International Director of French Federation of Pret-A-Porter Feminin (FFPAPF).

“This is their first visit to India,” she remarks. Further detailing, Mrs Rault describes that they are planning to bring bigger delegation to India next year.

“The potential of Indian market is really very huge for hi-end french brands, ” the advisor, in admiration, ascribes the idea behind this movement.

Attuning the same note Mr Patrick Gambirasio, President Director General, Cocomenthe, who has come to participate in this meeting, pours out- “India is very lucrative in the context of more creative, more European, hi-end luxury brands like Cocomenthe.”

Cocomenthe- the first brand that associates with feminine fashion travel, with its own outlets in the southern France, is also present in more than 350 MBOs across France. Around the globe the Group has 250 export customers spanning in Europe, Japan, Taiwan, China and more than 150 US customers.

In this meeting, representing Cocomenthe, the Director would be discussing on how best Cocomenthe can meet the expectations of the market here.

“We will try to discuss over the nature of networking, taste, and cultural attributes, spending behaviour in line to products to be offered,” Mr Gambirasio adds.

In his view, the resources- rich India has very good future for the sector.

The participating French companies are looking for licensee or franchisee for their brands in India. The companies already representing the international fashion brands in India successfully, or the companies with a good retail network and presence in India can be good partners for these French brands.

“We are looking forward to licensing or franchising network right now with popular hi-end lifestyle retail biggies present essentially in Mumbai and Delhi,” sums up Patrick in aspiration.
