Heidi Leung a Californian who was born in Singapore graduated from Central St Martin's in July 2010 and has worked for Edmond Chow, Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane.

“I'm really grateful to be selected as a finalist. It's going to be such an exciting journey and I look forward to learning about everything the Fashion Fringe team has to offer. It's been a frightening, but fun experience.”

Nabil El-Nayal trained in Manchester and the Royal College of Art and has previously won the British Fashion Council MA Scholarship.

“This is the stuff dreams are made of. I've been designing since I was a child; making my first dress when I was four for my mother out of net curtains – she'll be proud now! Thanks to all the judging panel who I really respect and admire.”

One designer will be selected as the overall winner by the judging panel after the catwalk show in September and will receive a 2-year development package to set up and sustain their business; which includes a mixture of cash, business advice, mentoring and a fully equipped studio at Somerset House.

Corrie Nielsen, the 2010 winner, is enjoying huge success at the moment and is currently in the studio preparing her S/S '12 collection for her second solo show in September. Her worked also featured recently as part of an installation at the Design Museum.
