YKK London Showroom names judges for Accessories Award

YKK London Showroom will sponsor the YKK Accessories Award during Graduate Fashion Week (GFW), to be held from June 2-5, 2019, in London. The judging panel includes YKK Europe ambassador, Kei Kagami; Elle’s UK fashion market and accessories editor, Molly Haylor; footwear and bespoke accessories designers Eelko Moorer, Jo Cope, and Chau Har Lee.

GFW celebrates students and graduates from global universities and gives them the opportunity to showcase their collections to leading industry figures and fashion insiders. At the event, the judging panel will review the designs of the shortlisted candidates, giving them the opportunity to talk through their projects. The judging panel will also take part in a panel discussion on June 4, 2019, according to a press release from YKK.

YKK challenges students to bring a modern directional approach to accessories. The winner of the YKK Accessories Award will receive a cash prize of £750 and the University will receive £250. In addition to the cash prize, the winner will receive a ticket to the Graduate Fashion Week Gala Awards Show which will be held on June 5, 2019. The YKK Accessories Award winner will be announced on June 5, 2019, at the Best of GFW Show.

All of the exhibition award winners will have their winning work clearly displayed on June 5, 2019, and will receive a mention during the GFW Gala Awards Show. (GK)
