Desk Report (RMG Times)  The President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Md. Siddiqur Rahman said that machinery and equipment are immensely important for the garment industry to enhance its capacity, especially productivity.

He made this remark while inaugurating the 1st edition of Bangladesh International Sewing Machinery and Accessories Fair (BISMA) exhibition, started today at International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka, as the Chief Guest.

He also said that the exhibition would serve as an important platform for apparel machinery manufacturers to showcase their new technologies and equipment to meet the requirements of the RMG industry.

BGMEA Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir said that garment factories should put more emphasis on using new machines and technologies to enhance production performance and efficiency. It will play a significant role in increase Bangladesh’s share in the global apparel market, he added.

BGMEA Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir and Second Vice President of BKMEA Fazlee Shamim Ehsan were present as special guests. Besides, Chen Ji, Secretary General, China Sewing Machinery Association also attended the inaugural ceremony.

Leading sewing and accessories machinery companies from different countries are taking part in the fair.
