Industrial production excluding energy and construction last year was down by 1.3 per cent YoY. Energy production was up by 1.6 per cent YoY in 2025.
Industrial production was down by 1.9 per cent month on month (MoM) in December last year after price, seasonal and calendar adjustment, according to provisional data by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
It was 0.9 per cent higher quarter on quarter (QoQ) in the fourth quarter (Q4) last year.
After revision of the provisional results, production increased by 0.2 per cent MoM in November 2025 (provisional figure was plus 0.8 per cent). It was down by 0.6 per cent YoY in December 2025 after adjustment for calendar effects.
In December 2025, production in industry excluding energy and construction was down by 3 per cent MoM after seasonal and calendar adjustment and down by 0.2 per cent YoY after calendar adjustment, a Destatis release said.
The production of consumer goods increased by 0.5 per cent MoM, while the production of capital goods dropped by 5.3 per cent MoM and intermediate goods production was down by 1.2 per cent MoM in the month.
