Euro area unemployment at 6.6% in June 2022

In June 2022, the euro area seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 6.6 per cent, stable compared with May 2022 and down from 7.9 per cent in June 2021. Compared with June 2021, unemployment decreased by 1.957 million. the unemployment rate for women was at 7.0 per cent, according to the figures published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the EU.
The unemployment rate for men was lower at 6.2 per cent, stable compared with May 2022, the figures showed.
The euro area or EA19 consists of Belgium, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia and Finland.
