According to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro, North America was the largest market for Cambodian apparel exports, accounting for 42.18 per cent of total exports in the period. Together, these two regions contributed more than 72 per cent of the country’s total shipments.
Cambodia’s apparel exports to Europe and globally saw a decline in January-September 2024 compared to the same period last year. The country exported $2,824.003 million worth of apparel to Europe in January-September 2023, which represented 33.07 per cent of the total exports of $8.538 billion during that period.
In 2023, Cambodia’s total apparel exports reached $11.259 billion, with exports to Europe valued at $3,865.427 million, making up 34.33 per cent of total shipments. Exports to North America were recorded at $4,542.130 million in 2023, according to TexPro.
Cambodia’s apparel exports to Europe have shown volatility in recent years. In 2018, outbound shipments were valued at $5,037.662 million, which fell by 1.88 per cent to $4,943.037 million in 2019. The trade experienced a significant drop of 33.97 per cent to $3,264.084 million in 2020 and remained relatively steady at $3,315.616 million in 2021. Shipments increased by 27.42 per cent to $4,224.923 million in 2022 but decreased by 8.51 per cent to $3,865.427 million in 2023.
