According to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro, Turkiye’s apparel export to the Czech Republic has seen a sharp decline from $27.532 million in January-March 2023. The shipment had seen a jump of 131.83 per cent to $47.228 million in the first quarter of 2021 when trading activities returned to normalcy after lockdowns and disruptions in 2020. The trade was recorded at $20.372 million in the first quarter of 2020.
After reaching a high level in January-March 2021, the trade reduced by 45.02 per cent to $25.967 million in the same period of 2022. Conversely, the trade slightly gained 6.03 per cent to $27.532 million in January-March 2023.
As per TexPro, Turkiye exported apparel worth $92.906 million in 2023. It jumped 102.91 per cent to $203.901 million in 2021 from $100.488 million in 2020. However, the trade reversed the trend and came down 49.44 per cent to $103.901 million in 2022 before further easing by 9.87 per cent to $92.906 million in 2023.
It is to be noted that Turkiye’s apparel exports to the Czech Republic are not more than half a per cent of its total exports.
