Vietnam’s total apparel exports reached $21.924 billion in the first nine months of this year, with shipments to the Middle East comprising 1.12 per cent of this total. North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe were the primary destinations for Vietnamese garments, accounting for over 95 per cent of total exports, according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.
In 2023, Vietnam's garment exports to the Middle East stood at $422.259 million, a 15.38 per cent increase from $365.981 million in 2022. Previous figures were $288.320 million in 2021, $256.258 million in 2020, and $263.487 million in 2019.
Trousers and shorts dominated Vietnam’s garment exports to the Middle East, with shipments valued at $48.973 million, making up 22.98 per cent of total exports of $213.145 million from January to August 2024, according to TexPro.
Other key items included T-shirts at $34.683 million (16.27 per cent), shirts at $20.113 million (9.44 per cent), innerwear at $15.307 million (7.18 per cent), and jerseys at $14.102 million (6.62 per cent) during the same period.
