Omni-channel distributor Staunch enters Indian IoT retail

Asia’s omni-channel distributor Staunch recently announced its expansion into products related to the Internet of Things (IoT), catering to smart Indian consumers. The company that recently launched a global brand YI Technologies in India, aims at introducing a pool of IoT products into the Indian retail market by end of the current fiscal.

The brand has been pivoting niche retail and distribution strategies for various categories of products like gadgets, fast moving consumer goods, fashion, hygiene & personal care, home style, automobile and lifestyle products.

2019-20 is the year of IoT products and solutions, as the Indian consumer is focussing now on safety, security and convenience, Indian media reports quoted founder and chief executive officer Kartik Agarwal as saying.

The company foresees smart homes as one of the fastest propelling categories in the IoT space, and therefore, it is planning to bring products like smart camera, smart plug, smart lights and door locks, said Nishant Choudhary, associate vice president, sales and marketing of Staunch.

The company has enabled more than 40 brands to capitalise on omni-channel retail opportunities. (DS)
