Yin Group to build first ever 'smart factory' in China

The Shanghai Yin Science & Technology Company (Yin Group) is working on an ambitious plan to build the first ever 'smart factory' in Chinese garment industry. The smart factory would come up on 50,000 sq m area in China's Qingdao city. It will have integrated hardware and software and will use efficient processes to deliver values to end customer.

“Yin Group is currently working on a project to build smart factory on 50,000 sq m area in Qingdao city in China,” the Group's technical director Jinliang Xia told Fibre2Fashion.

In a smart factory, two elements—hardware and software—need to be integrated. “Yin Group is already in hardware, now we need to integrate software. We have already tied up with SAP and more alliances with software companies are expected soon,” said Xia.

Seamless process integration, control system from manufacturing to warehouse and beyond are basic parametres for an effective and efficient smart factory.

“Outstanding growth of e-commerce will put pressure on manufacturers to build smart technology and efficient processes to deliver values to end customer,” he said.
