The Nonwovens Institute’s (NWI’s) Spring 2025 Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) meeting will be held on May 13-14 at the Centennial Campus of NC State University. The semi-annual IAB meeting is where NWI’s member companies gather with faculty and student researchers to review the latest results from the consortium’s portfolio of industry-identified nonwovens research projects. This is an opportunity for member companies, government agencies, faculty and students to engage around some of the fundamental challenges facing the nonwovens industry.

The IAB meeting will feature the presentation of the latest findings from NWI’s pre-competitive nonwovens research portfolio, along with poster sessions, tours of NWI’s state-of-the-art pilot- and lab-scale nonwoven production and testing facilities, and a variety of networking events, NWI said in a press release.

On May 13, the IAB schedule will begin with attendee introductions and the NWI Student Awards Ceremony, Wilson College of Textiles, followed by recognition of outstanding presentations from the Fall 2024 IAB meeting. The NWI student researchers will present their latest findings, with ample time for feedback. The IAB member introduction session will highlight the capabilities of NWI member companies. Later, the IAB faculty proposal pitch and poster session will take place at The Clubhouse at Lonnie Poole Golf Course, where PIs will pitch new projects for future funding.

On the last day, May 14, the IAB schedule will consist of student research presentations, continuing the presentations from the previous day. Next, the IAB student poster session will take place, allowing students to showcase their work and engage with attendees. Following that, the IAB research project review and NWI business update session will be held, where NWI members will finalise evaluations and discuss project progress. This session will also determine the NWI student awards.
