COTTON USA sponsors Fashion Summit (HK) in Hong Kong

Cotton USA recently sponsored Asia’s leading sustainable fashion summit in Hong Kong, Fashion Summit (HK) 2019. The summit provided a platform for more than 700 participants from the fashion, environmental, and technology sectors to exchange insights and connect companies with different perspectives to catalyse collaboration of textile industry.

Eight local textile manufacturers, including Cotton USA licensees Chicks, Laws Group, and Lever Style, and Cotton Incorporated also sponsored and exhibited at the summit. The two-day summit was funded by CreateHK of HKSAR government and co-organised by the Clothing Industry Training Authority (CITA), the office of honourable Felix Chung Kwok-pan, member of legislative council, the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA), Redress, Sustainable Fashion Business Consortium (SFBC), and WWF-Hong Kong, according to a press release by Cotton USA.

Fashion Summit (HK) 2019 brought together more than 50 global speakers, including representative of the United Nations, key players from the fashion industry, academia, and NGOs to discuss and address the issues of sustainable fashion development in depth. The summit aimed to foster a re-examination of current business models in the fashion industry, raise public understanding and awareness on the role of the fashion industry in leading a revolutionary change to achieve sustainable fashion, as well as inspire and nurture future generations to develop a sustainable fashion mind-set.
