OrganoClick appoints Maria Wennman as new R&D director

OrganoClick has appointed Maria Wennman, who has till now worked within OrganoClick’s R&D organisation for 8 years, as new R&D director. Also, it has appointed Dr. Salman Hassanzadeh as new innovation manager. OrganoClick’s current R&D director, Dr. Juhanes Aydin has resigned and will start a new position at the Swedish research institute RISE.

“Juhanes has worked as our R&D director since 2011 and has contributed a lot to OrganoClick’s development. He has been the main responsible for the development of a many of the company’s current products. I am very grateful for everything Juhanes have contributed with and that he has trained such competent R&D staff as Maria and Salman which now can take over him,” said Mårten Hellberg, CEO OrganoClick AB.

Wennman holds a master's degree in molecular science and engineering with a focus on polymer chemistry from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. In 2012, she started working for OrganoClick as a development engineer responsible for the development of OrganoClick's biobased binders for nonwoven. In recent years, she has worked as a project manager for all OrganoClick's external development projects that have been carried out together with customers. In parallel, she has continued to be responsible for the development of the company's binders. Wennman is the inventor of 4 patents that concern OrganoClick's biobased binder technologies.

Under Wennman, Hassanzadeh will take up a new position as innovation manager. He will work and be reponsible for the company's innovation projects. Hassanzadeh holds a PhD in formulation chemistry and has worked at OrganoClick for five years with the main responsibility for the development of the company's water repellent treatments (OrganoTex) and the further development of the company's wood protection technologies. Hassanzadeh is the inventor of 3 patents and is the author of 15 scientific publications.

“Wennman is a very competent chemist with very good leadership and organizational skills. She has an extremely strong commitment to sustainable development and green chemistry. Hassanzadeh has an extremely deep knowledge of chemistry and is very creative. With Wennman as the head of the R&D organisation and with Salman as innovation manager, I am confident that our R&D work will continue with full force,” said Hellberg.

OrganoClick AB is a public Swedish cleantech company. The company develops, produces and markets functional materials based on environmentally friendly fibre chemistry. Examples of products that are marketed by OrganoClick are the durable water repellent technology for textiles OrganoTex, the biocomposite material OrganoComp, surface treatment and maintenance products for villa and property owners under the brand Biokleen, biobased binder under the trade name OC-BioBinder and the flame and rot-resistant timber OrganoWood (through the joint-venture OrganoWood AB).
