Isko I-Skool 6 announces finalists from Denim Seminar

The Isko I-Skool 6 has named its finalists and partners from its recently held Denim Seminar, an educational appointment meant to deal with all things denim that took place at Creative Room, Isko’s style and design research hub in Italy. Isko I-Skool is an out-of-the-box educational project involving some important schools on an international level.

After the official launch at Premium Berlin, back in January 2019, this year’s edition entered its educational phase with the traditional Denim Seminar, aimed at nurturing young talents through hands-on experience of denim’s infinite potential. The contest has now revealed this year’s shortlisted finalists: out of more than 150 applications submitted, seventeen young talents have been chosen, including students from some of the most renowned schools in the world as well as young denim design professionals, the company said in a press release.

The seminar was the perfect occasion to gather finalists and tutors in a two-day learning event that focused on both technical and soft skills development, featuring also practical sessions to transform designs into real garments. Furthermore, an exclusive partner line-up was unveiled, highlighting the network of excellence that the programme has developed with key players of the industry. Gold partner is Jeanologia, silver partners are Reca Group, Riri Group, Lenzing Group, and supporting partners are Everest Textile and Tailor Pattern Support.

Isko’s team and partners shared their expertise through several activities which were presented to the young designers; the wide range of topics covered all aspects of denim creation, including denim history and production from field to final garment.

This outlook also led us to the creation of the denim educational guide, a unique, comprehensive tool soon to be released and made available to the public.
