Lycra to be a part of the Kingpins 24 livestream show
April 21, 2020 - Netherlands
Lycra, a global leader in developing innovative fibre and technology solutions for the apparel industry, will share its latest sustainable stretch and performance innovations at the Kingpins 24 livestream event on April 22-23, 2020. Kingpins is transitioning its spring denim tradeshow in Amsterdam to an online format amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under its EcoMade family of fibres, Lycra has developed a variety of offerings with pre and post- consumer content. The latest of these is the Lycra EcoMade fibre. Made partly with pre-consumer material, it is certified to GRS standards, offering the same high-quality performance as other Lycra fibre offerings. Another stretch vehicle, Lycra T400 EcoMade fibre, contains 50 per cent post-consumer content and can be used in conjunction with Lycra fibre for higher stretch with lasting shape retention, the company said in a press release.
The performance polyester fibres give new life to plastics, Coolmax EcoMade technology helps keep the wearer cool and dry and is made with 100 per cent post-consumer recycled materials. And for lightweight warmth, the Thermolite EcoMade fibre is engineered to help optimise comfort and performance.
To dispel some myths about sustainability, the company will deliver a presentation titled ‘Sustainable Stretch – Get the Facts’ on April 22 and 23, 2020. In addition, videos on the company’s Planet Agenda sustainability platform and Lycra EcoMade fibre will run during the Kingpins 24 livestream. Under the Planet Agenda platform, the company is also working on technologies for recycling stretch garments, extending garment wear life, and helping the customers use fewer, and more sustainable resources.
Kingpins 24 will feature livestreamed panel discussions, interviews, and exhibitor presentations focused on sustainability and corporate social responsibility, plus a variety of on-demand content about the denim supply chain’s offerings for the upcoming seasons. Registration is now open which grants free access to the livestream and on-demand content.
