Fire picks up carpets before buyers could!
April 30, 2008 - United Kingdom
Fire tenders across the world suddenly seem to have become very busy, thanks to the recurrent mishaps that have not failed to chase shops and manufacturing units.
A former carpet store and six other renovated shops and flats at Seaforth Road, Seaforth, were victimized this time.
The savage flames of the fire seeped through the three-storey terrace of the Seaforth Road on the afternoon of April 28. As many as 10 engines were required to control the blaze and it took the entire night before the situation could be brought under control.
So devastating was the scene around, that after calling a team of firefighters from Crosby, their numbers had to be reinforced by crews from stations including Kirkdale, Aintree and Bootle and Everton.
Spreading out to gulp down an entire row of shops and flats, the fire eventually took over the old Seaforth carpets as well which had been recently refitted for auction.
No injury has been reported so far. An investigation as to the cause of the fire is yet to be unraveled.
