Ken Tse & team receive ‘Asia/Pacific Travel Retailer of the Year’ Award

Excellent scores for The Nuance Group’s operations in Asia Pacific at this year’s DFNI Asia Awards: With no less than seven nominations in six categories, Nuance once more demonstrated its ability to enthuse a discerning audience by delivering outstanding performance.

Nuance-Watson (Singapore) in particular scored big with three wins, retaining the key awards for “Asia/Pacific Travel Retailer of the Year” and “Best Fragrances and Cosmetics Travel Retailer in Asia/Pacific” at the award ceremony held at Suntec City Convention Centre on May 13.

For the fifth time in a row, Nuance-Watson’s “Perfumes & Cosmetics” concept at Singapore Changi Airport has proven to be the undefeated beauty retailer in the travel retail industry, winning the highly sought after DFNI Award for “Best Fragrances and Cosmetics Travel Retailer in Asia/Pacific”.

Nuance-Watson Singapore went on to receive the award for “Best New Shop Opening in Asia/Pacific” for its Terminal 3 “Perfumes & Cosmetics” stores inaugurated this January 9, but the icing on the cake was winning the award for “Asia-Pacific Travel Retailer of the Year”, also for the second time in a row.

Highly regarded as the market leader in the beauty industry, “Perfumes & Cosmetics” operated by Nuance-Watson (Singapore) is best known for its wide array of beauty products from over one hundred international brands available at tax-free prices up to forty per cent below highstreet retail.

Ken Tse,Managing Director for Nuance-Watson (Singapore), commented: “With the new Terminal 3, there was an opportunity to offer customers even more brands and services than ever. We planned the store layout very much with the consumer in mind, developing zones to appeal to various segments.

Also, there was enormous sharing of ideas between us and various brands to develop the main store to maximise its potential, despite the difficult shape of the site. We went to the awards with low expectations as the nominees we were up against were strong contenders.

Two top awards and another nomination for Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong):
At the same awards ceremony, Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong) was recognised as “Best Gifts Retailer in Asia/Pacific” and “Best Fashion, Leathergoods and Accessories Retailer in Asia/Pacific” for the second and sixth time, respectively. Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong) was furthermore nominated for “Best Fragrances and Cosmetics Retailer in Asia/Pacific” along with Nuance-Watson (Singapore).
