Demand for cotton yarn drops in south India; prices ease in Tiruppur

Mumbai&#**;s cotton yarn market saw slightly better buying during the first half of the week, supporting gains in a few yarn counts and varieties. However, the positive trend didn&#**;t last. A Mumbai trader told Fibre2Fashion, “Buyers remained cautious amid uncertain business conditions, and better demand wasn&#**;t expected until after Ramadan.” The market anticipated increased weaving activities post-Ramadan, as many Muslim workers are involved in the weaving industry in Maharashtra and other states.

In Mumbai, ** count carded cotton yarn of warp and weft varieties were traded at &#****;*,***-*,*** and &#****;*,***-*,*** per * kg (GST extra), respectively.
