India's polyester, PC yarn prices ease on slow demand, payment issue

India's manmade yarn markets remained weak due to payment constraints and fiscal year-end pressures, with polyester and PC yarn prices declining in Surat and Ludhiana. Viscose yarn eased in Surat but stayed stable in Mumbai amid subdued demand and delayed imports from China. Cotton prices in north India rose on tight availability of good-quality fibre.

The Ludhiana yarn market witnessed weakness in polyester and PC yarn due to payment constraints, with prices easing by &#****;*–* per kg. Buyers showed limited interest in polyester and PC yarn. A Ludhiana-based trader told Fibre*Fashion, “Ludhiana market is facing a short supply of PC yarn, but sluggish demand has failed to support prices. Polyester yarn is also experiencing lower buying due to seasonal factors.”
