North India cotton yarn prices rise; recycled PSF, PC yarn surge

  • Cotton yarn prices rose in north Indian markets as spinning mills attempted to raise selling rates amid tight supply and volatility in the polyester value chain. Delhi and Ludhiana recorded modest increases, while Panipat saw a sharp surge in recycled PC yarn and recycled polyester fibre. However, overall trade remained slow due to prevailing market uncertainty.

The Delhi market registered price rise of &#****;* per kg in cotton yarn as spinning mills after quoting higher price by &#****;*-* per kg. Although, cotton supply and its value chain remained unaffected from the Middle East war. But cotton yarn supply reduced due to huge volatility in polyester value chain. A trader from Delhi market told Fibre*Fashion, “Spinning mills may be able to raise cotton yarn prices as the supply position remains tight. Despite slow demand from the downstream industry, cotton yarn prices have increased in the market.”

In Delhi, ** count combed knitting yarn was traded at &#****;***-***(~$*.**-*.**) per kg (GST extra), ** counts combed at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, ** counts carded at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, and ** count carded at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg today.
